British slots and table games supplier Realistic Games on Monday reportedly announced that Andy Harris has resigned his position with the company as chief executive.
iGaming Business reports that Harris’s resignation will take immediate effect but that he will remain with the Reading-based supplier for some months to aid in the initial transitional phase.
After four years as Realistic’s commercial director, in April 2016 Harris was promoted to the position of CEO.
Realistic reportedly said during his six years with the company, Harris has played a “significant part” in its success. And in doing so, the firm has established itself as an “essential supplier to many of the world’s leading gambling operators”.
Harris reportedly said in a statement: “It has been an honour to be at the helm of Realistic Games and I am confident that the company will continue to do what it has always done best: deliver innovative and market leading content to players, supported by first-class service to its operating partners.”
Realistic Games’ founding director Andy Cattrell reportedly thanked Harris for “his instrumental role in driving the growth of Realistic,” and said that losing someone of his [Harris] caliber is disappointing but he leaves the company “in great shape, with a capable and talented team ready to meet the challenges ahead.”
Harris has more than two decades of experience working in senior operational roles at companies including Rank, where after completing a graduate training programme he moved into general management at Grosvenor Casinos, before becoming Head of Business Development at Rank Interactive. From there Harris moved to BetVictor, where he oversaw their Casino and Games operation, after which time he became Director of Gaming at British based sports betting and gambling company Ladbrokes Coral.
According to Gaming Intelligence, Realistic said that the resignation was tendered by Harris last month. The company did not disclose the reason for Harris’ departure while directors there reportedly said that they “understand and support” his decision.
