The Stars Group recent PCA and PSPC award $63m in total

The Stars Group, parent company of PokerStars, has announced its most recent PokerStars Players No-limit Hold’em Championship (PSPC) and the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) were a success. Both the championship and the PCA took place at the Atlantis Resort & Casino earlier this month, awarding $63m spread across both poker events.

PSPC:

The PSPC ran from the 6th to the 10th of January, being the largest poker tournament with a $25k buy-in to ever take place in the industry. The field consisted of more than 1,000 players and a total of $26.5m was up for grabs. PokerStars had added $1m in prize money for the first-place winner.

It was Ramon Colillas who earned the first-place finish of the event, earning $5.1m for his efforts. A staggering six players earned a million dollar+ prize during the event. Colillas was able to take part in the PSPC free of charge after winning a PSPC Platinum Pass last year. The pass included the buy-in to the event as well as travel and hotel expenses.

Chief Executive Officer, Rafi Ashkenazi, stated: “Together, the PCA and PSPC have set a new standard for live events of this kind. These tournaments created many winning moments and exciting stories for our players and staff, particularly for Ramon Colillas, who won over $5 million from a free entry. It’s a great start to the year.”

PCA Results:

The PCA would finish up on the 16th of this month, providing $36.3m in prize money. The event saw more than 1,600 players competing. The buy-in to the PCA Main Event was $10,300 and had 865 players competing, with $8.4m in prize money. The first place finisher took home $1.6m.

Now, PokerStars prepares for the next event on the calendar. The European Poker tour Sochi is set to take place in March in Sochi, Russia. This will be the first stop on the 2019 European Poker Tour, with the event to run from the 20th until the 29th.
