Mothergunship Review- Bullet-Hell Extravaganza

Games News

Mothergunship wastes little time in throwing you head-first into its fast-paced and over-the-top bullet-hell experience. As the spiritual successor to indie roguelike FPS Tower of Guns, this homage to ’90s action games balances a number of clever mechanics throughout its pulse-pounding jaunt through the inner depths of alien ships. As you’re dodging hundreds of enemy bullets [while wielding a railgun, grenade launcher, and a flamethrower on one arm] you’ll find that Mothergunship offers a satisfying and fun take on classic first-person shooters.

Stepping into the boots of a space soldier in a power suit, you’ll work with a tight-knit crew of rebels, led by The Colonel, who plan to stop an alien invasion of earth led by the titular mastermind Mothergunship. The main story itself is…

Microsoft Says "We Haven't Pulled Any Games From PlayStation" Amid Redfall PS5 Discussion

Games News

Developer Arkane has commented on what changed with its vampire game Redfall after Microsoft bought studio owner ZeniMax. Speaking to IGN France (via IGN), director Harvey Smith said there was a “huge sea change” for Redfall after Microsoft bought the company, and this included a decision to not bring the game to PlayStation 5.

“They said, ‘No PlayStation 5. Now we’re gonna do Game Pass, Xbox, and PC,'” Smith said.

A spokesperson for Microsoft told GameSpot that the company has not “pulled any games from PlayStation.”

Microsoft announced its intent to buy ZeniMax in September 2020 and completed the buyout in March 2021. Some are suggesting that Arkane was working on a PS5 edition of Redfall and canceled it after the buyout, but Smith did not say this outright. GameSpo…

More Lord Of The Rings Video Games May Be On The Horizon With Embracer's 10,000 Developers

Games News

Embracer Group now owns the rights to The Lord of the Rings video games, TV shows, and movies–among other mediums–and the company’s CEO sees a lot of potential for growth in the area of games specifically. Lars Wingefors said at the Mipcom Cannes event this week that gaming will be Embracer’s “strongest area of growth and monetization” for The Lord of the Rings.

Embracer is among the largest video game companies on Earth by developer headcount, and this opens up possibilities that publishers at a smaller scale might not be able to accommodate, Wingefors said.

“Having 10,000 developers in the group means we are thinking about what we can do with the IP going forward and this justifies value for us,” he said. “And then we have a number of amazing opportunities to do transmed…

Moon Knight Introduces A Brand-New Mr. Knight To Go With A Brand-New Steven Grant

Games News

Moon Knight fans have a lot to look forward to as Marvel’s famously bizarre superhero makes the jump to live action for the first time ever this week. But, while the hero’s famously fractured personalities are being translated to the MCU, one (or, technically two) of them might catch comic book fans off guard. Steven Grant, who in the comics is Moon Knight’s most Bruce Wayne-like identity, wealth, suave, and social, has been adapted for the show as both bumbling and broke with a now infamously silly British accent to top it all off.

In this week’s episode, “Summon The Suit,” we get an even closer look at Steven’s place in Moon Knight’s world as well as a glimpse of how he fits into the whole superhero scheme as well. At the end of the episode, he summon…

It continues by showing details of the device’s back, a red and black color scheme emblazoned with the MSI logo. The video’s final frame shows a logo featuring multicolored claws and the text “#MSIxCES2024.” The caption reads “A whole new breed of MSI dragon is coming. Get a grip and stay tuned.” Presumably more details will release during CES from Jan 9-12. Price point and specs are currently unknown.

This is far from the first Steam Deck competitor to emerge. The ROG Ally released in June 2023 for $700 and was eventually joined b…
